Jack MacKenzie Perseverance Award Criteria                               

The Jack MacKenzie Perseverance Award will be presented annually to a grade ten or eleven male and female student athletes who have displayed a unique dedication to be involved in high school athletics while overcoming challenges during his/her high school education.  The selected students will receive a $500 gift which would aid in their involvement in high school athletics.

 

Criteria for the Jack MacKenzie Perseverance Award

  • The applicant is viewed as a role model to other students and staff and is perceived by others as possessing a true sense of leadership while participating in athletics and working on completing his or her high school diploma.
  • The applicant should display the excellent effort and sportsmanship and kindness to teammates and opponents. 
  • Applicants must currently be enrolled and attending a Regina High School involved with the Regina High Schools Athletic Association.
  • The applicant must have participated in a RHSAA activities

 

To the School

  • Schools will apply to the RHSAA office.  Applicants will be forwarded to the Jack MacKenzie Selection Committee.  Chairs are Russ Clarke/ Brad Howard or designate.
  • Please submit a commentary on the student and their dedication to high school athletics including evidence of the criteria listed above
  • The student must be enrolled in an RHSAA member school and be in good standing with the school.  Please include the percentage of attendance for classes enrolled in during school year.
